University of Michigan

Recognition

Throughout the University's history, gifts from generous alumni and friends have been vital to Michigan's becoming one of the world's premier educational institutions. Our donor recognition programs extend our gratitude to those who have invested their time and resources. Events and Publications are some of the ways we recognize donors. The John Monteith Legacy Society

John Monteith (1787-1868) was a founding father and president of the institution that became the University of Michigan. Donors who support the University with an estate plan gift provide the foundation for future academic excellence and are recognized with membership in the John Monteith Legacy Society. Through their generosity, Monteith Society members demonstrate how one generation can help those to come.
